The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. About The Role Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full-time Strategic Talent Partner - Talent Management to join our dynamic Talent Strategy team in our People Culture and Performance division.
The Talent Strategy team leads enterprise-wide initiatives to prepare our workforce for the future and enhance organizational effectiveness.
In this senior, high-impact role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to your assigned business areas. You will develop and implement a comprehensive Talent Plan for your Division(s), integrating organization design, succession planning, workforce planning, capability mapping, team effectiveness, leadership development, and performance optimization. You will work closely with other Talent Management colleagues to ensure the Talent Plan is executed systematically and effectively.
This role reports to Talent Management and maintains a dotted-line relationship to the assigned Vice-President, reflecting the seniority and strategic nature of the position.
Formula for success
- Leveraging your demonstrated ability to gain the respect and trust of executive level management, you will be the primary partner for a Vice-President and senior leadership team. You will assist business in managing workforce for a given area, using well- developed consulting skills to diagnose performance challenges and provide guidance and counsel/coaching. Translate operational plans and future direction of the division into human capital needs.
- Utilizing your excellent problem solving and analytical skills, you will analyze talent issues and/or business performance challenges, assemble leading practices to put forward actionable recommendations, prepare plans and ensure successful execution.
- Drawing on your client focused orientation, you will sit on the divisional leadership team and contribute to the performance of the division.
- Using your excellent leadership and organizational skills, you will lead or support (as assigned) the execution of talent programs, including processes such as performance management, talent reviews, succession planning and leadership development.
- Demonstrating your very strong ability to influence decisions makers, you will identify need for organization design/structure changes; lead the process to develop the design, partner to effectively populate structure; provide guidance on talent and headcount/cost.
- Utilizing your ability to grasp corporate and customer strategies, you will contribute to the development of programs and initiatives and work with colleagues in the field to ensure a standard approach to execution.
- Leveraging your ability to integrate current and future talent management trends to enable business strategy, you will be responsible for leading the client through the development of a robust talent strategy
- Demonstrating your adaptability skills, you will perform other related duties as required.
Desired Education And Skills
- Completion of post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a University Degree in Business, Human Resources, Behavioural science.
- You will have at least 7 plus years of combined experience with the following: Talent Management Strategies, Organizational Effectiveness, Change, Human Capital Consulting, Employee and/or Labour Relations.
- Experience in matrix function across the organization will be considered an asset.
- You will possess a strong commitment to professional and customer service excellence, with superior verbal and written communication skills.
- You will have a proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities.
- Experience with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
What You Can Expect
- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40 % of the time/ 2 days per week.
- The regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day).
- Depending on where you are located, you may be required to travel to Ottawa quarterly, and as required.
