About the role

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Manager, Cyber Security Operations on a permanent basis on our IT Cybersecurity Operations team. This position is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere across Canada.

Lead the charge in safeguarding organizational assets by driving cyber security operations that align with strategic IT goals—detecting, preventing, and responding to threats while guiding local Co-ops and cross-functional teams to elevate FCL’s security posture through innovative, risk-based solutions. What you’ll do:

  • Lead the execution of FCL’s IT Security Strategy, overseeing technologies and processes for IT Cybersecurity assessments and threat mitigation.
  • Operate and provide guidance on a company-wide Cybersecurity program, ensuring protection of data and infrastructure while meeting legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Working closely with our Governance and Controls team, contribute to and enforce established IT security policies and standards, providing domain guidance and expertise across IT teams to align with governance practices and industry best practices.
  • Manage incident response and vulnerability remediation, leading efforts to detect, respond to, and resolve cyber threats though collaborations with internal IT operational teams.

Who you’ll work with:
You will work closely with other members of the infrastructure team, have three direct reports, and report into the Director, Infrastructure & Operations. You will provide guidance to direct reports, project teams, and other resources as necessary to ensure that their projects follow corporate privacy policies, and established security practices. This team strives to cultivate a culture of security-first mindset, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous learning.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Information Technology and :

  • Have 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in security domains in one or multiple areas: Application, Infrastructure, Network in a complex distributed environment. Including 3+ years of experience directly managing people and security and risk practices.
  • Have a Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Computer Science or related field (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Have completed or are working towards any of the following ISACA certifications:
    • COBIT 5
    • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
    • CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control)
  • Are familiar with managing and building a strong and effective team.
