Financial Analyst - Calgary, AB - 1-Year Full-Time Contract
The Opportunity
An industry-leading energy organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Information Services team. Reporting to the IT Financial Management leadership team, you will support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, governance, and cost optimization activities across a complex technology portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities for Information Services operating expenditures. Analyze financial results, variances, trends, risks, and opportunities. Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations. Monitor and report on technology-related operating expenditures and investments, and track technology-related purchase orders, invoices, accruals, renewals, and contractual commitments. Prepare and maintain recurring financial reports, KPIs, dashboards, and supporting analysis. Support compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and governance standards. Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation, and financial transparency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, procurement support, IT finance, or a related discipline. Experience supporting budget prep, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience working with ERP systems, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA designation or progress toward your designation. Experience supporting technology, digital, telecommunications, or shared services environments. Exposure to IT financial management, cloud cost management, or FinOps principles. Experience with SAP or other enterprise financial systems.
