Role Summary:
The Staff Accountant will work on day-to-day accounting operations for a growing SaaS company. This role is well-suited for an entry to associate-level professional looking to build strong technical accounting experience in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
About the Role:

Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure timely recording of financial transactions.

Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

Support preparation of internal financial reports and financial statements.

Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.
-
Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures.
-
Support audit requests and provide documentation for internal and external audits.
-
Assist with tax filings and statutory reporting under Canadian requirements.
-
Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks and analysis as needed.
About You:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting
-
2–3 years of relevant accounting experience (co-op or internship experience considered).
-
Foundational understanding of accounting principles, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
-
Experience with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
-
Familiarity with subscription-based revenue, deferred revenue, and basic concepts such as ARR, MRR, and revenue recognition (ASC 606 exposure is a plus).

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Proficiency in MS Excel.
