What You’ll Be Doing You will be joining the Enterprise Innovation team within CIBC. As a Senior Consultant, Enterprise Innovation, where you will play a crucial role in advancing CIBC’s mission to build the bank of the future. You will help identify and explore emerging trends and technologies, drive hands-on experimentation to uncover new opportunities, and contribute to fostering a strong culture of innovation across the bank. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Innovation, you will focus on managing and delivering innovation-driven projects, collaborating with partners throughout CIBC to create and realize new sources of value.

  • Executive Storytelling & Deck Development: Develop compelling executive-level presentations and storytelling materials to gain alignment, secure buy-in, and provide updates that effectively showcase the work and impact of the Innovation team to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Innovation Projects: Collaborate with teams across the organization to deliver business outcomes by applying innovation methodologies such as design thinking and Agile, and leveraging knowledge of emerging technologies.
  • Project Management & Delivery: Lead the end-to-end management and delivery of innovation initiatives, demonstrating strong project management skills in planning, execution, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Delivery Process Optimization: Continuously assess, refine, and optimize delivery processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes. Share best practices, tools, and frameworks to drive performance and continuous improvement across projects.
  • Project Delivery Governance: Support the Director in upholding effective governance for critical projects, ensuring efficient controls and successful outcomes.
  • Relationship building: You act both autonomously and collaboratively. You forge strong relationships with various teams but working with partners to ensure the development and co-ordination of critical project elements for successful implementation. You are a great communicator, with the ability to negotiate and influence to ensure alignment across dependent deliverables. You manage communications and risks – proactively, consistently and effectively – in order to drive intended impact. You have a proven ability to partner, build confidence and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels across the organization and you have the ability to deal with ambiguity and develop processes from the ground up.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 4+ years of experience in Project Management delivery. You are Outcome-Oriented: Focused on results and works backwards from the desired state, ensuring plans are aligned with defined objectives; End-to-End Delivery Experience: Skilled in scoping projects, mapping user journeys, and leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve goals. Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated success in project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery, with a focus on risk management and stakeholder engagement. Strategic Planner: Capable of building adaptable plans and communicating progress, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders. Innovation-Driven: Passionate about innovation, fintech, and emerging technologies, and experienced in delivering new capabilities. Client and Partner Focused: Operates with a client mindset, fostering strong relationships to achieve business objectives. Resourceful and Entrepreneurial: Demonstrates flexibility and resilience, working effectively with available resources and identifying growth opportunities. Strong Problem Solver: Possesses excellent strategic thinking, conflict resolution, and troubleshooting skills. Agile Delivery Knowledge: Experienced in Agile methodologies and project execution. Technologically Savvy: UI/UX design experience, good automation, AI experience preferred. Comfortable with technical concepts and translating them into business value. Metrics and Outcome Driven: Skilled at setting KPIs and OKRs, committed to continuous improvement. Executive Storyteller: Proficient in developing and delivering presentations and updates tailored for senior leadership to drive alignment and showcase team achievements.
