We are seeking a Safety Coordinator in St. John's, NL to support the continued development and effectiveness of our safety programs and to help foster a strong safety culture across our operation.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Safe Work Practices, Safe Job Procedures, and Job Safety Analyses Assist in identifying trends and implementing action plans to reduce compliance gaps, operational errors, and safety risks Collaborate with management and supervisors to review safety and operational reports, ensuring risks are addressed effectively Conduct facility inspections, recommend corrective actions, and support implementation efforts Monitor and maintain onsite inspection programs for tools, equipment, and facilities Provide guidance and support to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) committees Contribute to the preparation of the quarterly safety newsletter Develop and promote safety awareness materials to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards Work collaboratively across the PAL Group of Companies to achieve safety objectives and operational requirements
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a maintenance or industrial environment Experience in a federally regulated workplace and familiarity with the Canada Labour Code Working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) or Safety Management Systems (SMS) Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret requirements and support process development Excellent documentation and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication abilities Proven adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines A collaborative team player who contributes positively to a diverse workplace
