About the Role:
Vitacore is seeking an Engineering Co-op Student who is passionate about automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence in manufacturing.
You will work closely with engineers and technicians to design, build, and optimize automated systems that support recycling and production efficiency across Vitacore’s facilities.
This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in hands-on engineering, AI-driven process design, and sustainable manufacturing technology.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in developing automated systems for recycling and manufacturing lines.
- Support data collection, analysis, and testing of AI and machine learning models.
- Contribute to the design and prototyping of mechanical and electrical components.
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize manufacturing workflows and automation performance.
- Document project findings, test results, and technical progress.
- Troubleshoot and refine automation solutions based on operational feedback.
- Support general engineering tasks contributing to process improvement and efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in 2nd–4th year of an Engineering program (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer, or related field).
- Basic programming experience (Python or C-based languages).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and automation concepts.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Experience with sensors, PLCs, or robotics systems is an asset.
- Familiarity with machine learning or computer vision applications in industry is a plus.
