The Opportunity
The Digital Solutions Branch of the Information Technology (IT) Division has a great opportunity for an experienced and strategic leader with strong communication skills for the permanent full-time position of Manager, Digital Citizen Experience based in Regina who will provide leadership and strategic planning oversight for the digital ecosystem inclusive of websites, digital citizen services, mobile and social media.
You will lead a high-performing team of specialists to support core web, mobile and social media objectives, as well as enabling support and professional development for ministry communications, IT and digital service delivery professionals.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to public service and focus on continual learning, participation in organizational life and professional delivery. You will have experience leading digital professionals and know how to merge strategy and tactics to achieve successful outcomes in broad-based digital projects. Resumes from qualified candidates must detail extensive knowledge of the digital industry and substantive experience as a leader of a digital team or comparable web-based projects. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in leading or delivering enterprise digital solutions.
Reporting to the Director, Digital Citizen Experience, this position will be responsible for:
- Hiring, leading and managing a team of Digital Content Strategists, Social Media Strategists and Digital Service Designers;
- Providing leadership and coaching team members and supporting their ongoing development;
- Leading resource planning and capacity management across the team; and
- Establishing, maintaining and governing digital standards for web content, service design and social media.
The Ideal Candidate
As our ideal candidate, you will be a results-oriented individual with strong verbal and written communications skills. Your qualifications include:
- Post-secondary degree required with over 5 years of related experience;
- Leadership experience with direct reports;
- Training from Human Factors International, Nielsen Norman Group, IDEO or similar;
- Experience applying design thinking or other human-centered methods;
- Proven experience in digital (web and social media) communication principles and practices;
- Knowledge of information architecture principles;
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize competing demands in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced environment;
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with being detail-oriented; and
- Self-motivated and pro-active with respect to both managing workload and professional development.
