Medicine Hat College is accepting applications for a full-time, temporary Accounting Assistant II for our Financial Services department.
A little about the role:
This position reports to the Manager, Financial Services. The Accounting Assistant II is responsible for processing accounts payable and receivable, managing purchase orders, reconciling vendor accounts, and maintaining sub-ledger accounts. The successful candidate will also support year-end reconciliations, banking, process donations and bursary payments, and manage the issuance of T4As. All responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with established college policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
Details:
As a successful applicant you'll have:
- Diploma in Business Administration (with an accounting focus) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting administrative environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures, financial systems, and office software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Terms of Employment
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Term: November 2025 – November 2026
Pay rate: $24.85 per hour (Start Rate); $28.10 per hour (Job Rate)
