Job Description This position will require expertise in Mainframe Technology.

Lead a cross-functional team of software and quality engineers to address complex business challenges through meticulous technical analysis and innovative solution development & delivery. Partner with architecture and business stakeholders to translate strategic visions into tangible, high-quality deliverables, ensuring seamless project execution. Accountable for building, maintaining, and evolving the culture and community of Engineers to ensure solutions meet business needs and aligned with technology strategies and emerging industry standards;

Responsibilities

  • Lead & manage a team of Engineers / Technology Specialists to ensure critical milestones are met with quality deliverables.
  • Provide overall team leadership, training, coaching, development, succession, recruitment, and resource management, and ensures on-going performance feedback and assessments occur and development plans exist for each team member. Engages team with Platform and Journey leads to ensure 2-way feedback of Practitioners occurs.
  • Execute on Engineering strategy as it relates to using tools to automate build, test, release and configure activities across Application, Platform, and Infrastructure.
  • Work with partners across Technology and apply in-depth understanding of relevant business needs to identify and leverage synergies across the various areas
  • Perform code reviews and operate as an individual contributor/engineer if and when required.
  • Anticipate client needs to influence the development of innovative engineering solutions as well as business strategies
  • Manage resource requirements and assignment, ensuring project milestones are met and monitoring to keep projects on schedule and within budget
  • Support team in staying knowledgeable on emerging issues, engineering trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of knowledge / expertise in own area and keep current with emerging industry trends, new technologies and best practices in the external market that can contribute to delivering effective customer solutions.
  • May interact with governance and control groups, (e.g. regulatory and operational risk, compliance, and audit) to provide subject matter expertise and consult on risk issues / items relating to Engineering technology and tools

  • Foster an environment that promotes sharing of knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team; ensure timely management and escalation of issues and create opportunities to collaborate with other functions and teams
  • Foster a high-performance culture by setting team targets and objectives, promoting, and facilitating on-going feedback/coaching and conducting Quarterly Check-Ins for all colleagues to drive accountability and business results

Experience And/or Education

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in development and software delivery .
  • Knowledge and experience with mainframe technologies
  • Deep expertise and knowledge of specific domain or broad range of experience in technology domains, including understanding of in-house and third-party architecture integration
  • Preferred Education as bachelor's degree in computer science / information technology /engineering or a related field master's degree
