About the role

Voyago is hiring for an Operations Manager for our Non Emergency Medical Transportation division to oversee a region in Southern and and Central Ontario.

Your Role:

Reporting directly to the Director Non-Emergency Medical Transport, Ontario, the General Manager will play a key role in the strategy and business development initiatives for the organization. In addition to providing direction and leadership, the General Manager is responsible for driving growth, sales, sustainability and profitability while building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers. This is an in-office position that will require travel to other locations within Ontario.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Research and analyze documents and proposals to determine and meet the organization’s long and short-term goals
  • Translate the company vision and mission into a regional strategy and plan, including the development of goals and objectives for all teams and individuals to align them with the company direction
  • Takes responsibility for a culture of continual improvement by growing the business, improving services, increasing efficiencies, training our people and improving financial performance.

Contract and Customer Relationship

  • Ensure contract service requirements and KPIs are achieved
  • Share and develop industry best practices with quarterly customer engagements
  • Develop and share data to better improve performance and healthcare transportation flow
  • Integrate Transdev Ontario processes and presence further into the healthcare system for long-term sustainability
  • Apply effective labour relations practices, including active participation in collective bargaining, administration of collective agreements, and grievance resolution.

Leadership

  • Motivate, coach, develop & train employees to obtain department goals & objectives, supports resolution of conflict along with the staff
  • Develop and maintain an open, engaging employee relations environment which remains positive, solution-orientated, and issue free
  • Support independent contractor compliance, growth and performance; monitor revenue targets, individualized business goals and data driven solutions.
  • Review monthly department report based on KPI’s, and decide on how to improve performance
  • Provide strong and results-oriented support for managers to meet established protocols and compliance relating to service levels to our customers.
  • Develop and foster a culture that revolves around Safety

Operations

  • Oversee the booking of corporate accounts and business developments
  • Provide recommendations regarding strategies
  • Apply Best Practices in all areas to ensure equity, equality and objectivity
  • Responsible for yearly performance goals & reviews for staff and conducting weekly and bi-weekly meetings.
  • Resolve complex problems that have immediate and long-term implications through cross-functional teams
  • Apply a forward-looking approach to identify risks and opportunities and initiate the appropriate changes in advance to mitigate impacts or realize improvements

Public Relations

  • Organize the availability of company members for media/PR events as necessary
  • Manage press development and coordinate the invitation of potential future promoters and supporters of the company

Administration

  • Oversee preparation of the Annual Report summarizing progress on short- and long-range plans
  • Ensure accurate documentation of production and quality control data and record
  • Ensure client and vendor file integrity and maintain general oversight and insure accuracy of records including A/R and A/P
  • Assist in the development of forms and tools to increase company efficiency and risk management

Requirements

Your Profile:

  • You posses a University/College Degree or Equivalent
  • You bring minimum 5 years management and business experience, preference would be given to the transportation or health industry fields
  • You have proven experience working in a unionized environment with strong knowledge of labour relations practices, collective agreements, and grievance handling
  • Your planning and financial oversight experience and any project based accounting expereince would be an asset
  • Your experience in non-emergency patient transportation is preferred
  • You posses or are able to obtain a Valid FR or equivalent certification *along with current First Aid/CPR certification
  • You can provide a copy of your current immunization records and are willing to acquire any outstanding vaccinations required for the role
  • You bring excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • You are available to work flexible hours, including outside regular business hours
  • You posses strong working knowledge in all Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Power Bi)
  • You are comfortable presenting in front of the group
  • You posses a clean Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector
  • You have proven excellent customer service and client relations experience
  • You have strong planning and time management skills and the ability to effectively handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • You have excellent leadership skills
  • You have the ability to manage stress under tight deadlines
  • You possess a minimum G class drivers licence
