About This Role
The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will play a key role in partnering with business leaders to deliver financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and drive business performance in these fast-growing and strategic business areas. Candidates with cost accounting and inventory experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Services, R&D) to provide actionable financial analysis and business insights.
- Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with business objectives.
- Generate monthly reporting packages for the business lines, including variance/trend analysis and performance tracking against targets and KPIs.
- Efficiency with delta pricing analysis, customer/product mix variation analysis, manufacturing cost deviation analytics.
- Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, internal controls, and reporting standards.
- Drive financial process improvements and support digital finance transformation initiatives.
- Reporting to Finance Business Partner on weekly; monthly and quarterly basis.
Essential Qualifications, Experience, And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 2-4 years of experience in finance or business partnering, preferably within industrial, energy, or high-tech sectors.
- Experience in cost accounting.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems and BI tools is a plus.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear and impactful insights for business partners.
- Understanding of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
Additional Specific Requirements
- Must possess and maintain an unrestricted valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel to international destinations; must possess and maintain a valid passport for international travel.
- Must be available for business travel to international locations.
Compensation range: $85,000 – $95,000 CAD
