About the role
As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, including those with behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and other related factors. You'll provide supervision, academic support, and compassionate care while serving as a positive role model for our students. By working closely with teachers, you'll help implement effective educational routines and strategies that promote both behavioral and life skills. Your dedication will ensure that each student receives the personalized support they need to thrive and achieve their educational goals through individualized education plans. Duties and Responsibilities Services* Provide supervision, care, and support to individuals with diverse needs, including behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and other related issues.* Supervise and actively engage with students in a safe and structured environment.* Collaborate with the teacher in planning and programming.* Assist in implementing individualized education plans and programming.* Monitor and guide students' behavior and educational progress.* Support students in reaching their educational goals.* Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.* Address conflicts and manage crisis situations calmly and compassionately. Identify potential triggers, recognize escalating behaviors, and de-escalate situations safely and effectively.* Administer medications to students when necessary.* Transport students as required.* Document incidents and updates, including critical incidents, medication administration, and other classroom or student-related information. Complete all reports and documentation clearly, accurately, and promptly.* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ranch Ehrlo, a non-profit organization, was founded by the late Dr. Geoff Pawson in 1966. It started as a single home for six boys with significant complex needs and grew to a multi-service agency delivering a wide range of accredited mental health and developmental services delivered in southern Saskatchewan and in and around Saskatoon and Prince Albert. Our services include assessment and psychotherapy for members of the broader community, family treatment and reunification, early learning, vocational training, emergency receiving services, treatment foster care, affordable housing, residential treatment, and education for children and youth with mental health and addictions needs, residential care for older adolescents and adults with pervasive and complex developmental disorders, and community recreation and sports programs for at-risk youth. Our clients are referred from across the country.
