We are looking for a detail-oriented Regulatory Compliance Specialist to support our Regulatory Compliance program and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. This role involves administering regulatory compliance management (“RCM”) system (“Resolver”), monitoring for regulatory changes, conducting reviews, and collaborating with business partners to embed compliance into daily operations. Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of experience in regulatory compliance or a related field, strong analytical skills, and a passion for maintaining high standards of integrity.
Key Responsibilities: Compliance Program Support
- Support and maintain a risk-based regulatory compliance framework aligned with applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and update Compliance-related policies and procedures as required.
- Monitor new and changing regulatory requirements, analyze impacts, and communicate updates to business partners.
- Assist the business in implementing new and changed regulatory requirements.
Monitoring & Issue Management
- Administer the RCM program in Resolver, including the: input of new or updated regulatory requirements, management 1st line of defense self-assessments and provision of effective challenge on controls; and explanations of compliance submitted by the business to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct 2nd line of defense compliance reviews, manage expectations with business partners, document findings, and publish reports.
- Track, escalate, and assist with resolution of compliance issues, ensuring timely and accurate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate RCM records and reporting within Resolver.
Advisory, Training & Collaboration
- Provide interpretation on regulatory topics such as FSRA guidance, and privacy.
- Collaborate on the creation and issuance of privacy and other regulatory-related training and awareness materials.
- Assist with privacy-related matters, including incident management and legislative monitoring.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed compliance requirements into business processes.
- Provide ongoing collaboration and support to Compliance team on projects, tasks and initiatives as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience: 3–5 years in regulatory compliance, risk management, or related discipline.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with compliance management systems (e.g., Resolver), regulatory frameworks, and risk-based monitoring. Ability to interpret, understand, and react quickly to large volume of regulatory information to help determine and assess their impact on the business and products.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial services regulations, privacy legislation, and compliance best practices.
- Must be able assess and react quickly to volume of regulatory change to help determine and assess their impact on the business and products.
This role represents an existing vacancy. Internal candidates are being considered as part of our standard process. Salary Range: CAD $59,800.00 to $89,800.00 annually. Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Office Location: Toronto Corporate Office located at 3280 Bloor St W, Etobicoke, ONorSt. Catharines Corporate Office, located at 75 Corporate Park Drive, St. Catharines, ON.
