ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Program Manager, System Solutions and Data Management, is responsible for developing software, testing, enhancing, and implementing technology solutions; providing technical support and maintenance for application solutions; creating and maintaining technical documentation; and coordinating development efforts with team members.
CORPORATE ITS GOVERNANCE
Departmental information technology functions work in close collaboration with Corporate Information Technology Services (ITS); consistent with the Information Technology vision and strategy; supporting the development and implementation of Information Technology initiatives, programs, processes, policies, and protocols. Corporate ITS provides strategic ITS planning, direction, and leadership across the Region.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Conceptualizes, designs, and develops new business intelligence solutions and applications according to specifications and business requirements.

Participates in the collection, documentation and validation of user requirements including the creation of design documents such as business process maps and user stories, in collaboration with Department staff and ITS Branch.

Participates in the creation of delivery timelines and coordinates these with Regional release schedules and processes.

Defines, develops, and documents technical requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications in collaboration with internal teams and clients.

Leverages appropriate documentation standards, develops technical and training documentation as well as videos and other multimedia support for applications.

Establishes advanced ETL, data warehousing, data modeling, reporting/dashboards in/out of applications to encourage user experience feedback to inform continued enhancement direction.

Collaborates with peers and clients on process improvements and enhancements through a technical perspective and to improve customer experience.

Participates in multi-branch/department collaborative development teams, participates in client meetings related to requirements gathering, and attend developers’ forums and education events.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a College Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Programming, or technical school or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience with Object Oriented Programming and Server Side Programming and in leading and architecting software solutions using modern software development platforms and integration technologies.
- Data modelling experience using database software and tools (e.g, SQL Server Management Studio(SSMS), Oracle SQL Developer / Data Modeller, TOAD).
- Demonstrated experience in developing applications using relational databases as MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases as MongoDB, Redis, Couchbase and data modelling experience using database software and tools like SQL Developer, Data Modeller, TOAD, Visio, UML.
- Understanding of industry security practices such as database, codebase and operational security.
- Demonstrated experience in integrating separate systems and technologies, and machine to machine communication standards.
- Demonstrated experience conceptualizing and designing applications based on user feedback leveraging an agile development methodology.
- Thorough knowledge of application software development lifecycle.
- Data management skills, experience with enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation, and load (ETL and ESB) tools.
- Proficiency in Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) concepts and advanced experience in creating and using database objects.
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including communication, innovation, teamwork and collaboration, and personal ownership.
