Intermediate Electrical Designer / Drafter

Bluestar Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM company specializing in oil and gas and renewables projects. We are a group of professionals who form a fully integrated multi-disciplinary organization backed by many years of experience.
We are currently seeking an Intermediate Electrical Designer/ Drafter to join our team.
Duties And Responsibilities
Lead electrical design on small to medium-sized oil and gas projects for all electrical, controls and instrumentation drawings. Maintain an organized filing system within each project, ensuring all documentation and revision control is accurate. Manage the requirements of multiple projects simultaneously, including time management and deliverable prioritization. Coordinate with other disciplines to develop designs and complete electrical drawing packages within project scope, schedule and budget. Check drawings to ensure they are complete and compliant with standards and specifications. Make revisions and improvements to designs/drawings in accordance with changing project demands while ensuring changes are carried out across the entire design.
Requirements
Electrical Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent. 6+ years’ experience in electrical & instrumentation design (oil & gas experience required) Familiar with CEC, NFPA, API codes. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. 3D modelling skills would be considered an asset. Excellent English language reading and writing skills. Personable and able to work with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment. Ability to adjust to change and multitask in a fast-paced setting.

In addition, several of their staff engineers are also registered professionals with both the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC), the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba (APEGM), and other provinces as required on a project basis.
