Your Role at Manion
We are looking for a Corporate Billing Specialist to join our close-knit team and we hope our search ends now, with you. This role has a hybrid work arrangement, required to work on site in our Etobicoke office with flexibility to work from home a few days a week.
Reporting directly to the Supervisor Corporate Billing, you are responsible for the invoicing of all the corporate clients, disbursements of funds collected including premiums, tax payments, broker/ partner payments and administration fees. This position requires both a deep knowledge of the system setup, benefit administration and the proper tax treatments of all lines of benefits and resulting payments.
What You’ll Do
Working with the Supervisor, Corporate Billing, here’s what the first 90 days will entail:
First 2 weeks

Learn and understand our electronic Corporate directory, how things are saved.

Be introduced to all employees at FSP, meet with Manion Corporate Billing team to understand the various roles within this team.

Learn the Billing Specialist monthly cycle of required activities – job shadow on the activities scheduled during this two-week period.
First 30 days
-
Training on complete monthly cycle.

Review and begin to understand the structure of the Corporate clients in MPACs.

Review all month end reports and understand how to run these reports and where the data is drawing from.
First 60 days
- Under the supervision of the Supervisor Finance, perform the month end cycle
First 90 days

Have a complete understanding of the various Corporate client variances, how these are reflected in the system.

Be able to track down the source of an issue within the system, know who the correct person/department is to correct the issue.
You will be responsible for preparing corporate billings for an assigned group of clients and will calculate and request payment to Brokers/ Partners for Commissions/ admin fees. You will monitor carrier premiums and claims payment accounts, client payments and float balances, as well as annual renewals, ensuring system updates are made before billings are run. When needed, you will assist in the setup of new clients.
It will be your responsibility to calculate and transfer Manion fees and input premium remittance to carriers – including stop loss, out of country, LIFE, LTD, etc. in various requires formats for our Corporate block of clients. In addition, you will deal with the Provincial Sales Tax remittance.
You will prepare pre-authorized draws from clients and ASO admin agreements for new clients.
Success in this role would be the mastery of the processes you touch on a day-to-day basis and your ability to keep abreast of industry and government requirements.
What You Bring to the Team
- You have a post secondary education in a related field.
- You have the ability to work independently.
- You must have knowledge of the employee benefits industry.
- You have excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to deliver outcomes within challenging deadlines
- You have previous experience working with an insurance carrier or TPA/Broker with premium billings
- You are fluent in written and spoken English, strong oral and written communication skills
- You have strong Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skill

Compensation
At the time of this posting, the estimated pay range for this position is $50,000-$55,000k. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the base pay and does not encompass our comprehensive total rewards, benefits, and potential bonuses that we proudly offer.
