Chip Test Technicians at Photonic are integral members of a team working to realize first-of-their-kind photonic all-integrated circuits for implementing truly scalable quantum technologies. As a Chip Test Technician you will be testing, building, and operating high-tech setups to characterize quantum emitters embedded in photonic circuits at cryogenic temperatures. You are a specialist in testing devices and are familiar with evaluating and improving their performance. You will work in a diverse, fast-paced, and multi-disciplinary team of technicians, engineers and scientists.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
- Align chips for test and measurement
- Execute test scripts as required to meet test and analysis goals
- Develop and document test and measurement processes and procedures
- Define automation requirements to improve test station productivity and repeatability
- Define and align acceptance criteria for test stations and methods to be adopted in the test and assembly flow with the Test and Device Engineering teams
- Analyze results, troubleshoot, diagnose
- Push continuous improvement to our systems and processes
- Develop standard operating procedures
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM
- Diploma in Electronics, Computer Systems Technology, BSc, MSc Physics/ Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Hands-on experience with automated measurement systems
- Knowledge of optics
- Hands-on-experience with fibre and/or free-space optics
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of test instrumentation
- Good organization, problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail
An exceptional candidate will bring:
- Working experience on developing automated data acquisition, test and analysis scripts
- Experience in programming languages like Python
- Experience in Electrical/optical measurements
- Experience with Cryogenic Systems

The base annual salary range for this full-time role is $78,100 to $107,400 CAD. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside of this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications including relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
