Fort McMurray, AB | Flights & Camp Provided | Mining Equipment

At Levitt-Safety, we help keep critical mining operations safe and operational across Canada.

We’re hiring an experienced Vehicle Fire Suppression Technician to support mine sites in Fort McMurray. In this role, you’ll inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fire suppression systems installed on heavy mobile equipment including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, shovels, and support equipment.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect, test, service, and repair vehicle fire suppression systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults and failures
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency service calls
  • Complete system inspections and documentation using iPads
  • Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
  • Work directly with customers and mine site personnel
  • Maintain service inventory and equipment readiness
  • Follow all site and company safety procedures

What You Bring

  • Experience servicing vehicle fire suppression systems (ANSUL, Kidde, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working on heavy mobile equipment
  • Basic electrical diagnostics experience
  • Comfortable working independently in field environments
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
  • Ability to pass drug, alcohol, and site access testing

Preferred Assets

  • Mining or industrial site experience
  • OEM or suppression certifications
  • Experience with heavy equipment inspections and diagnostics

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable working around large heavy equipment
