About the role

Sinai Health is looking for a Receiving Dock Porter to support our Support Services, Stores and Receiving department at Mount Sinai Hospital.

In This Role You Will

Receive products and supplies from the Materials Management/Receiving department’s receiving dock Maintain manual and/or computerized record of supplies Store and/or prepare goods for distribution/delivery to the end users and/or return to the vendor Maintain communication with user departments and suppliers Receive and stores incoming goods and completes receiving worksheets following HACCP guidelines Verify received goods against purchase orders generated from SAP Examine goods and supplies, confirming counts in cases, weights, temperatures, expiry dates and quality of supplies Sign-off on packing slips, and attaches slips to purchase requisition from SAP Notify supervisor immediately of any shortages, damages and/or discrepancies Assist supervisor with monthly inventory Respond to hazards, deficiencies and contraventions of the Act in a timely manner Practice all proper safety lifting procedures Perform cross-functional and other related duties as assigned, including ensuring all storage areas are clean, tidy and clear of debris, crates, skids, etc.

Job Requirements

Mandatory

Successful completion of a high school diploma 1 year of recent and related experience

Preferred

Electric pallet lift training

Skills and Knowledge

Demonstrated ability to work with computerized database systems (SAP), data entry and keyboarding skills Demonstrated competency with HACCP inventory receiving/ management protocols Ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the job which requires lifting/pushing heavy equipment (over 50lbs.), bending, walking and standing for extended periods of time Ability to work in varying, and extreme temperatures Ability to adapt to a fast paced, diverse and changing environment while meeting deadlines Experienced in establishing and maintaining strong communication Strong customer service skills in interacting with a variety of individuals Ability to work both independently and as a team player Good organizational and time management skills Demonstrated problem solving skills Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
