Crew Chief (Permanent) Winnipeg, Manitoba Expected Salary Range: $68806 to $114709

To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and Apprentices.

  • Lead a team working on CL Water Bomber Aircraft and Commander 690 Aircraft as well as other aircraft as needed

  • Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair an aircraft’s mechanical or structural systems.

  • Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers and diagnostic equipment.

  • Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks.

  • Keep timely and accurate records of the repair and maintenance activities that were conducted.

  • Carefully observe all procedures, rules and regulations when performing any task.

  • Be thoroughly familiar with, and use, safety procedures and safe work practices.

  • Use the appropriate PPE for tasks/jobs.

  • Maintain a clean and productive work area.

  • Work efficiently alone and as part of a team.

  • Read, understand, and adhere to the:

  • Safety & Health Policy Statement

  • Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual

  • Company Policies and Procedures and the MPM.

  • Utilize the Company reporting system to report any hazard, incident or accident.

  • Enter labor in the labor tracking system accurately for all tasks performed.

  • Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines.

  • Normal work schedule is

  • Oct 1 to April 1 is Monday to Friday dayshift 40 hours per week. With potential for overtime.

  • April 1 to Oct 1 is 2 weeks away from base 2 weeks off.

  • The schedule does vary slightly depending on operational requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Must hold a valid M1 and/or M2 AME license
  • Experience with CL-215/CL-415 aircraft is an asset
  • Experience with Garrett Turbine powered aircraft is an asset
  • Have demonstrated experience working in WinAir or other similar maintenance programs
  • Have good organizational skills
  • Are proficient in English, written and spoken
  • Have the physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods
  • Have the physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods
  • Have physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces
  • The ability and willingness to work shift work.
  • Have ability to work at heights
  • You are eligible for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and ITAR Clearance
  • Have or can obtain a Canadian passport
  • Hold a valid drivers license
