About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on technical specialist responsible for installing, diagnosing and repairing photography equipment across our North American studios. This role ensures our studios stay operational and visually consistent by maintaining and troubleshooting all camera and lighting systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-call expert for all photography system issues across multiple studio locations (Canada and U.S.)
• Diagnose and repair flashes, strobes, transmitters, cameras, lenses, mounts, and related hardware
• Perform on-site maintenance, calibration, and installation of studio systems
• Identify root causes, create solutions, and implement permanent fixes
• Coordinate travel and parts procurement for urgent repairs
• Support studio staff remotely with technical guidance and troubleshooting
• Maintain consistency of lighting output and photographic results across all studios

Requirements

• Extensive experience with professional lighting systems (Profoto, Godox, Elinchrom, or similar)

• Strong knowledge of mirrorless camera systems and tethered shooting workflows

• Skilled in basic electrical and mechanical repair (soldering, wiring, mounts, brackets, etc.)

• Comfortable using tools and working independently on-site

• Able to travel frequently and remain on-call for emergencies

• Must have legal authorization to work in both the United States and Canada (dual work authorization required). Sponsorship will not be provided.

• Valid passport and driver’s license.

• Must submit a portfolio of relevant photography work.

Ideal Background

• Experience as a photo studio technician, photo assistant, or AV technician with strong repair ability
• Understanding of studio lighting consistency, exposure control, and color accuracy
• Calm, analytical problem solver who can triage, document, and act quickly
