PROFESSIONAL SERVICES – LEVEL 3 PROJECTS

POSITION SUMMARY

The Solutions Architecture Team Lead will be responsible to ensure the Solutions Architect team is optimized and equipped with the necessary tools and processes to design high-quality IT solutions. This includes overseeing daily operations, providing guidance and mentorship, coordinating team activities, and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve team goals and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily operations of the team, ensuring efficient workflow and task completion including, but not limited to:

    • Development of proposals and solution sets and preparing them for submission to Clients
    • Collaboratively working with Clients, vCIO’s, Procurement, Professional Services and Sales Administration
    • Conducting research on new technologies and solutions
    • Engaging with Clients to better define needs and outcomes, often presenting technology options, benefits of proposed solutions, and implementation approach
    • Continued development of Convergence’s technology standards
    • Creation of internal documentation for product development
    • Design, development and/or implementation of new products from design to production
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members (combination of on-site and remote team), fostering both personal and professional growth

  • Coordinate regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions to discuss progress, provide feedback, and address any issues

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and productivity

  • Ensure all team members adhere to company policies and procedures

  • Act as a point of contact for escalations and provide solutions to complex problems

  • Collaborate with other departments to align team activities with overall company goals

  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new team members

  • Facilitate communication within the team and with stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity

  • Monitor and assess team performance, implementing corrective actions when necessary

  • Support the team in technical work, including data collection, problem-solving, needs analysis, and other tasks as required

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including ergonomic practices for desk work

  • Ensure the continuous improvement of documentation, processes and policies related to the ongoing development of the Solution Architect team.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

  • Experience, knowledge and/or advanced skills in:
    • On-premises and cloud-native networking
    • On-premises to cloud migrations
    • Azure AD, Azure Backup Tools and Microsoft 365 stack
    • Network, remote and onsite support; troubleshooting
    • Cisco/Meraki hardware
    • Folder redirection and how to safely dismantle
    • MFA and Conditional Access policies
  • Personal skills and abilities:
    • Dedication to exceptional, professional service through patience, empathy, solution orientation, follow-up and effective communication
    • Excellent communication (verbal and written in English; feedback, listening and comprehension), documentation (for all levels internally and externally), detail and time management skills
    • Ability to build rapport and work productively with others (customers and teammates)
    • Ability to manage conflict, facilitate escalations and effectively manage stressful situations
    • Strong sense of initiative and ownership over work and the ability to adapt focus and work as necessary

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS I NEED TO HAVE?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within a technical or administrative environment

  • 5+ years of experience with IT solution design

  • 5+ years of experience as a resource within a project delivery team

  • Previous solution architecting/sales engineering experience; Writing proposals, developing standard solutions, performing Client demo’s, research new products and technology

  • Strong technical background with experience in data collection, problem-solving, and analysis

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to the role

  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Proven ability to work effectively with multiple departments that may have competing priorities

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WOULD REALLY HELP SET ME APART FROM OTHER APPLICANTS?

  • MSP industry experience

  • AZ-104 and AZ-305 certifications

  • CCDE, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, 500-220 ECMS Cisco Certs

  • Experience creating proposals/quotes and working with internal team to develop solutions

  • Experience with cloud solutions, Microsoft technology stack

  • Understanding of and a background in working within the IT managed services provider business model, particularly in a support role.

  • Experience with ConnectWise, Kaseya, or other similar MSP tools and software.

WHAT IS THE WORK ENVIRONMENT LIKE?

  • Normal office working conditions. Work requires regular sitting/standing at a desk, working with a computer. This position requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, seeing, reaching, talking, writing, and hearing; it may require occasionally carrying or lifting equipment if working on-site.

  • Position requires contact with others - in meetings, by phone or by email. Interactions focus on data collection, problem solving, needs analysis and technical work. Interactions are initiated in person or electronically. Position may require some travel to customer sites.
