Job Summary

The Junior Repair Planner, under the direction of the Collision Centre Manager, supports the estimating and repair planning process while acting as a liaison between MPI and collision centre operations. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with prior experience in vehicle repair (mechanical or collision) who are eager to develop their skills in estimating and blueprinting. The Junior Repair Planner is responsible for accurately documenting vehicle damage, preparing estimates, and assisting in coordinating repairs while maintaining professionalism and an exceptional customer experience.

This role requires candidates to supply their own tools, possess strong communication skills, and be comfortable using cameras and computers for documentation. With proven performance, this position offers the opportunity to grow into an Advanced Repair Planner or Senior Advanced Repair Planner role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with dismantling and reassembling vehicles for accurate estimating.

  • Document all prior and accident-related damages using paint pens, photographs, and detailed written notes.

  • Support the preparation of accurate vehicle damage estimates in compliance with MPI policies, OEM repair standards, and Crown procedures.

  • Capture and record all required labour and parts operations using repair procedures.

  • Use cameras and computer systems to ensure complete and professional documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with MPI, production staff, parts team, and CSRs to provide updates and clarity on estimates.

  • Support CSR upselling opportunities by preparing retail damage estimates as required.

  • Attend daily production meetings and contribute to a collaborative workflow.

  • Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and communication in all interactions.

  • Participate in ongoing training to grow into an Advanced Repair Planner role.

  • Support the cleanliness and organization of the collision centre facility.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive repair, either as a mechanic or within the collision industry (required).

  • Must supply personal tools required for teardown and repair documentation.

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills; must be well spoken and professional.

  • Ability to use cameras and computer systems effectively for repair documentation.

  • Mature, professional demeanor with strong organizational skills.

  • Desire and commitment to grow into advanced-level estimating roles.
