We're looking for our next Intermediate Buyer to join our team. The Intermediate Buyer will be responsible for procuring goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively, managing the full purchasing process from requisition through to delivery, while resolving discrepancies and negotiating favorable terms. This role requires strong supplier relationship management, sourcing expertise, and the ability to evaluate contracts and pricing to support operational and project needs.

Key Accountabilities
- Procure goods and services in the most efficient and cost effective manner
- Process Purchase Requisitions – verifying for completeness and accuracy (specifications, supplier, price)
- Revise, update and issue Purchase Orders
- Monitor lead times and expedite problems with suppliers regarding costs, quality, quantity and delivery of products and services purchased
- Effective use of historical and other benchmarking data to ensure competitive pricing
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery and invoice discrepancies
- Negotiate pricing, delivery/shipping costs, credit terms and discounts
- Work within negotiated global agreements where possible
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers domestic and international
- Source new suppliers to meet project expectations
- Obtain and analyze competitive quotes/evaluate quotations and select qualified Suppliers
- Work closely with internal customers to understand their requirements and provide direction
- Proven ability to assess and negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Long Term agreements (LTAs) and Contracts for production, capital equipment and operations
- Special projects or additional tasks as required

Understand and respect the rules concerning safety, quality, hygiene and the environment.
Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the Roquette Pea processing plant and its operations.

- General knowledge of contract formation, negotiation, contract management skills, and commercial law
- Good understanding of business processes, methodologies and information systems related to supply chains
Technical Applicative competencies
- Proficient with all MS Office programs
- Knowledge of working with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
Qualifications/Requirements
Education:
Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain management and/or a Purchasing related discipline
Enrollment in PMAC, CPP, CSCP or SCMP is considered an asset
Experience:
Minimum 5 years purchasing/buying experience.
Experience placing Purchase Orders, expediting and supplier management.
Familiarity with best purchasing practices, market research, data analysis and problem solving skills
Practiced in developing, issuing, and managing RFPs, RFQ, RFIs and managing competitive sourcing processes
Exposure to sourcing products internationally
