Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience

• Minimum 5 years experience in mine operations and supporting mining operations, preferably within open-pit mining

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on diagnostic and location-based analytics

• Expertise in working with databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL), data warehouses (Synapse SQL pool, Snowflake), and data lakes (Parquet, Delta-parquet in ADLS v2 storage)

• Experience with geospatial technology (Esri ArcGIS, Safe FME).

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends and opportunities, presenting findings to stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner

• Develop and maintain high-quality analytics products, providing stakeholders with near real-time access to critical information for data-informed decision-making

• Develop and maintain knowledge base to support the implementation of mining technologies

• Foster a culture that promotes the use of data in the day-to-day decision-making process

• Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to help uncover opportunities and use your data analytics skills to uncover actionable insights

• Stay up to date on evolving data analysis techniques and best practices, incorporating them into the development process to continuously improve analytical capabilities

Location and other Key Details:

• This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office or our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta

• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

• Our engineering roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
