Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Required Teaching Qualifications
A valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate A valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers Primary/Junior/Intermediate Qualifications Teaching Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing Qualification
Position Criteria
Demonstrated experience with the development, implementation and review of IEPs for deaf and hard of hearing students Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to collaborate with outside agency professionals and school team members Experience using technology that support accommodations for deaf and hard of hearing students Ability to facilitate an understanding of deaf and hard of hearing student needs amongst education staff and community partners Demonstrated experience in assessing and implementing expanded core curriculum goals Facilitate the understanding and the use of language in social and integrated settings Exhibit a balanced and informed attitude towards the range of communication approached used in the education of deaf learners A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel within the Board
