TRU’s Williams Lake campus is located approximately three hours northwest of Kamloops, in the heart of the scenic Cariboo region, on T’exelcemc territory within the unceded traditional lands of the Secwepemc Nation.

The Department of Literatures, Languages and Performing Arts at Thompson Rivers University, Williams Lake Campus, is inviting applications for a sessional lecturer position in FNLG 1100 - Introduction to First Nations Language 2 - Tsilhqot'in February 16, 2026 - May 6, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action to recognize the importance of Elders to our campus and our students learning of traditional ways of knowing and languages. In this spirit, TRU acknowledges Elders and traditional knowledge keepers as valued educators.

  • Experience as a Tsilqot'in language teacher
  • Advanced fluency in comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing Tsilqot'in
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
