Position Overview Reporting to the Senior Sales Director, the Retail Sales Coordinator will assist and support the day-to-day business with some of Merrithew’s current Retail E-commerce accounts including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Sport Chek and will also provide administrative and sales support to the Sales team. This individual will be responsible for assisting with identifying and researching potential new business channels and new channel-specific growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will also work closely with the E-Commerce Customer Support team to assist with handling customer service-related matters for Retail accounts when needed. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and have excellent communication skills, be confident working with numbers, and have a keen eye for details.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize placement of Merrithew™ brands on assigned Retail partner E-Commerce platforms to drive sales towards exceeding quarterly and annual Sales targets.
- Work with Senior Sales Director to identify, secure and assist with managing new Retail customers.
- Follow up on leads and work with Retail accounts to gain a better understanding of their business and identify unique account-specific sales opportunities.
- Provide support to assigned Retail accounts (i.e. updating price lists, product information, image requests, monitoring and addressing reviews).
- Create and generate notifications including New Product announcements, In/Out of Stock items, Discontinued items, General FYIs.
- Assist Senior Sales Director with annual account projections, including promo strategy to facilitate growth.
- Analyze sell thru of product assortment, pull monthly sales reports and monitor stock levels.
- Participate in best-practices training programs offered by vendor partners.
- Work with Senior Sales Director to ensure a smooth introduction and set-up of new accounts to the functional teams – like Shipping, Retail Operations or Finance.
- Update Senior Sales Director on any issues with account activity so they may be escalated to internal key stakeholders in IT, shipping, inventory management and finance where and when necessary
- Keep up-to-date account/lead information in CRM and within Deal Memos
- Participate in tradeshows as requested.
- Additional projects and other duties as assigned.
Business Development
- Conduct research to determine new channel-specific opportunities and assist Senior Sales Director with developing and securing new business
- Assist with deal memos, pricing, shipping and internal logistical issues that allow us to launch new accounts
- Assist with market research and competitive data analysis
Skills And Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business or a related field with previous experience in a Sales Coordinator role or customer service role preferred.
- Knowledge of CRM, SAGE and Edisoft Merchant an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Detail-oriented with excellent accuracy.
- Superior organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work well under pressure, demonstrating a sense of urgency.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.
- Willing and able to attend work-related events and travel domestically as required.
- Exposure to fitness, Pilates, or wellness industries would be an asset.
