Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
To teach GWST 1015.03: Gender and Diversity; currently scheduled for In-Person delivery on Tuesday and Thursdays, 1135-1255, in the Winter Term (January-April 2026). The part-time academic’s duties include responsibility for planning the course in conjunction with the Coordinator, teaching the class, evaluating the students, holding regular office hours, and administration relating to the class. The part-time academic must be available for consultation with students outside of class times 2 hours per week. This position will report to the Coordinator of Gender and Women’s Studies.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Master’s or Doctorate in Gender and Women’s Studies (or equivalent professional experience) and demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the university level through experience in course instruction in various capacities. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of queer and feminist theory, particularly from an intersectional approach that emphasizes the relationship between power, systems of inequality, and gender (demonstrated through degree specialization or prior teaching) and/or applied expertise in women’s and queer movements and community involvement and activism. Experience applying participatory learning methods is ideal.
Salary Range/Pay Rate
As per CUPE Collective Agreement

All offers of employment as a Part-Time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
