Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director - Capex, the Jr. Project Manager provides essential project coordination, administrative, and technical support to the Capital Management team. This role supports the planning, execution, and completion of capital projects, renovations, and expansions, working closely with internal teams, external consultants, vendors, and accounting. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with company standards, while contributing to the maintenance and improvement of our residences across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Administration

  • Manage day-to-day administrative and project needs for the Capital Management team.
  • Create and track purchase requisitions and orders in Workday to prevent delays.
  • Support invoice processing and resolve errors to ensure timely approvals.
  • Track capital spending, prepare reports, and update budgets.
  • Set up new vendors in collaboration with Accounts Payable.
  • Schedule meetings, manage documentation, and follow up on action items.
  • Assist with developing and tracking property-level capital budgets.

Project Execution & Support

  • Support the planning, design, and execution of capital projects with consultants and engineers.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Complete project close-out documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate building condition audits and manage related data.
  • Assist with commissioning new systems and training staff.
  • Conduct site visits and audits to ensure quality and adherence to scope.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Provide regular project updates to the Director and regional leaders.
  • Work closely with Operations and Asset Management on annual capital budgets.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical support during urgent building-related situations.

Key Outcomes

  • Workday processes and vendor setups are handled accurately and on time.
  • Invoicing issues are resolved promptly, and approvals are secured.
  • Capital spending is tracked and reported effectively.
  • Directors and Regional Managers receive consistent project support.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in business, project management, construction, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, construction, facility management, or asset management.
  • Experience managing administrative workflows and project documentation.
  • Knowledge of construction trades, building codes, health & safety, and WSIB legislation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project; Workday experience is an asset.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel within the region.
