About the Role

We seek a dynamic and experienced Sustainability AI Lead to become the trusted domain authority behind Pulsora's AI-powered sustainability offerings. You will work alongside AI to deliver regulator-ready, audit-ready, and executive-ready sustainability outcomes. You will own the technical quality, regulatory defensibility, and business outcomes of AI-generated sustainability consulting while continuously improving the AI through expert knowledge and customer experience.

Responsibilities

Outcome Delivery: Partner with AI agents to deliver Sustainability Intelligence, GHG Inventories, Carbon Footprints, Scope 3 Assessments, Benchmarking, Materiality Assessments, CSRD Readiness, Carbon Pre-Audits, Decarbonization Planning, Carbon Credit Management, and other sustainability offerings. Trusted Advisor: Advise Sustainability Managers, CFOs, CSOs, auditors, consulting partners, legal teams, and executive leadership on sustainability reporting, climate disclosures, and business decisions. GHG Accounting: Build corporate GHG inventories and carbon footprints; perform Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions calculations; define organizational and operational boundaries; select and validate emission factors; resolve data gaps; document defensible methodologies. Hands-on Analysis: Analyze ERP data, procurement, supplier, logistics, travel, utility, and operational datasets to develop accurate, audit-ready sustainability calculations. Audit Readiness: Prepare organizations for third-party sustainability assurance by ensuring documentation, traceability, evidence, controls, and defensible methodologies that meet auditor expectations. Decarbonization: Support science-based targets, scenario analysis, emissions reduction strategies, renewable energy initiatives, carbon credits, and other climate programs. AI Quality Ownership: Own the technical quality, regulatory defensibility, and business outcomes of AI-generated sustainability consulting. Validate calculations, regulatory interpretations, citations, evidence, consistency, confidence, and identify hallucinations or unsupported conclusions. AI Training: Continuously improve Pulsora's AI by capturing best practices, refining prompts, creating evaluation datasets, developing validation rules, and partnering with Product and AI Engineering. Thought Leadership: Stay current on evolving sustainability regulations, frameworks, and AI technologies; contribute through webinars, customer workshops, blogs, and industry events.

About You

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 4–8 years of sustainability consulting experience, ideally with ERM, EY, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, Anthesis, WSP, or similar organizations. Hands-on experience building GHG inventories, emissions calculations, carbon accounting programs, and sustainability disclosures. Deep knowledge of the GHG Protocol and familiarity with some or all of CSRD, ISSB, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, SBTi, EU Taxonomy, California climate regulations, SEC climate disclosure requirements, and related frameworks. Experience selecting and validating emission factors and producing regulator-ready, audit-ready deliverables. Understanding of third-party sustainability assurance expectations, documentation, traceability, evidence, and defensible methodologies. Extensive use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, or similar, including light AI-assisted prototyping. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and executive presentation skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced global environment and continuously improving AI-powered consulting.
