FP&A Manager - Acquisition Profit and OPEX
About the role
Position Details: The Manager should have a solid understanding of lease and loan pricing, financial and managerial reporting, financial and operational forecasting, and product and segment profitability analysis in a consumer lending or auto finance company and financial data. The team member must also be experienced in manipulating large datasets and conducting ETL processes.
The Manager, Acquisition Profit and OPEX understands the ‘big picture’ and consistently promotes collaboration and continuous improvement seeking a good balance of efficiency, speed and accuracy of information to support all areas of the business as they relate to financial planning and analysis, data needs and stakeholder management. This role is part of the FP&A Team and therefore has been posted as FP&A Manager - Acquisition Profit and OPEX. Selected candidate will internally hold the title of Manager, Acquisition Profit and OPEX and report to the Senior Manager, FP&A and Treasury.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead financial analysis and valuation for acquisitions and product developments, including leading the development of lifetime profitability and acquisition ROA calculations. Perform variance analysis and interpret trends related to financial forecast in support of business decisions for long-term financial sustainability and to appropriately manage stakeholder reporting.
- Design and develop pricing models for consumer and commercial products to facilitate program reviews with Sales. Collaborate with Sales and Risk identifying opportunities and risks through profitability analysis of existing and prospective products.
- Oversee F.OPEX and V.OPEX budget setting and monitoring, and related spending approval processes. Deliver regular reporting to HCCA Senior Leadership on OPEX spending trends and variances to plan, highlighting significant drivers and identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Collaborate with Regional HQ and Global HQ colleagues to ensure compliance with global governance policies on operating expense spending.
- Support month-end closing from both managerial and financial standpoint, including tracking, reporting, and income recognition of back-end products, and maintenance of related financial forecasts.
- Continuously mentor and support the growth of the analysts within the FP&A team and other areas of the business to further develop superior business acumen and technical skills.
Work Experience:
- 5+ years of financial experience, preferably in auto finance, mortgage, credit card, or banking.
- Expertise in financial forecasting, modeling, reporting, and communication of key metrics to stakeholders.
- Strong financial modeling background (product pricing, profitability analysis, business cases).
- Proven communication skills with ability to establish credibility across technical and non-technical audiences; Korean language skills an asset.
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related discipline.
- Experience designing and maintaining managerial reporting and performance monitoring systems, including expense controls.
- Supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to train and develop staff.
- Skilled in handling large datasets and designing ETL processes.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Superior analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with strong execution and attention to detail.
- Strong grasp of core financial skills with ability to connect operational and financial data.
- Reputation for integrity, results-orientation, creativity, and sound judgment.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; experienced with SAS, SQL, and VBA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to challenge existing practices and drive process improvements.
