About the role
Position Overview:
Lambert Nemec Group is partnering with a respected post-secondary institution in the search for a Director, Construction — a strategic and hands-on leader who will shape the future of the organization’s physical footprint. This is a rare opportunity to play a defining role in how a growing college continues to expand and evolve its learning environments for generations to come.
In this role, you’ll lead the planning, design, and delivery of major capital and campus development projects, from initial concept to grand opening. You’ll collaborate closely with senior leadership, architects, consultants, and community stakeholders to bring bold ideas to life—balancing innovation, sustainability, and practicality at every stage.
If you’re someone who thrives on transforming vision into built reality, this position offers the autonomy, influence, and scope to make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end development of campus expansion and construction projects—from concept, design, and approvals through to completion and occupancy.
• Partner with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines that align with the organization’s long-term strategic goals.
• Oversee the selection and management of architects, consultants, and contractors, ensuring seamless collaboration and strong communication throughout all phases.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and performance to ensure delivery on time and within scope.
• Represent the organization in all construction-related negotiations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks.
• Champion sustainable building practices and guide projects to align with green construction standards, including LEED and provincial environmental policies.
Requirements:
• A degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field (PMP certification or equivalent experience is an asset).
• Minimum 7-9 years of progressive experience in construction planning, facilities development, or large-scale project management, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Deep understanding of design, estimating, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Proven success managing multiple high-value projects concurrently while navigating complex stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build trust across teams.
• Familiarity with LEED or other sustainable design practices.
Rewards:
• Competitive annual Salary.
• Comprehensive employer-paid benefits.
• Generous vacation package.
