Title: Health Benefits Assessor
Salary: $64,636 - $69,974 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Term – March 31, 2026
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week (core Mon-Fri hours 9am-3pm)
Location: Alberni Office - (Metro Vancouver) - located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil- Waututh Nations. Hybrid (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy after the probationary period is over).
Bargaining Unit: PSAC Local 22000 (Public Service Alliance of Canada)

About the role
As Health Assessor, you will review, assess, and adjudicate First Nations health benefits requests. You will also process payments and client reimbursements, conduct analysis and provide recommendations regarding exceptions and appeals. As well as, you will provide program information to key stakeholders. Additionally, you will maintain records and systems.

About you
Education and experience

  • Grade 12, including completion of one year of post-secondary education, plus one (1) year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • You may have experience in: Health Educator, Health Benefits Claims Adjustor, Health Program Coordinator

Skills and abilities

  • Knowledge of First Nations social, health, economic, and political issues
  • Ability to provide information and advice directly to clients and providers
  • Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Conflict resolution skills
