Job Description JDI IT is looking for a rockstar Business Analyst to help digitally transform J.D. Irving’s Retail division. The Retail division includes Atlantic Canada’s leader in Home Improvement – Kent Building Supplies, business to business supplier – Chandler Sales, award-winning pre-engineered structural systems manufacturer – Atlas Structural Systems, and Plasticraft Digital & Specialty Printing. The successful candidate will jump right in, take ownership, and apply critical thinking that pushes the status quo. Responsibilities will include eliciting and documenting the actual needs of stakeholders—which frequently involves investigating and clarifying their expressed desires—to determine underlying business requirements. You will, then, lead the implementation of those requirements working with the larger JDI IT team and the business leads in the Retail division.
This role requires on-site presence.
Responsibilities
- As part of the JD Irving IT Team, you will be supporting the JDI Retail Division
- Modernizing processes through leveraging of technologies
- Understanding customer demand versus IT supply
- Understanding key business data and quality
- Performing requirements elicitation & documentation
- Building use cases (definition and development) and developing test cases
- Documenting business processes using BPMN
- Understanding capability of analytics tools and enabling business to act from analytical insight
- Managing integrity, confidentiality, and security of all datasets
- Expediting data analysis and reporting
- Understanding the risk tolerance/profile of the business
- Collaborating with design and architecture
- Translating business process model to technical realization
Qualifications
- A University Degree in a related discipline
- At least 3 years work experience in a business environment
- Preferably experience in an IT work environment
- Expert experience in Microsoft Technologies, particularly in O365, D365, and Azure Dev Ops (ADO)
- Experience with securely integrating external and internal systems
