Our Finance Department is seeking detail-oriented Clerks to support the Revenue and Taxation team in an auxiliary capacity during peak periods. In this role, you will provide front-line customer service to the public and perform a variety of clerical tasks related to property taxes, utilities, and other municipal revenues, including processing payments, verifying and entering data, maintaining records and files, and responding to inquiries in person and over the phone. You will also support general office operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Performs related work as required.
Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by some clerical or customer service experience, preferably in a financial or municipal setting, along with sound knowledge of office practices, business English, and basic arithmetic. You have strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to provide clear, accurate information to the public while following established procedures and policies; the ability to learn systems quickly, stay organized, and maintain accuracy when handling financial and confidential information is essential. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Pay Rate: $29.25 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
Location: City Hall
Hours of work: This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work. Typical shifts will be Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
