About the role
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dependable and physically capable individual to join our excavation team as an Excavation Labourer. This role involves assisting with various excavation tasks, including digging, trenching, grading, and general site preparation on active construction sites.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, the ability to follow direction, and a consistent focus on safety. Work will be performed at multiple sites throughout Alberta, with a Living Out Allowance (LOA) provided for travel-related assignments.
Anticipated start date: As early as August 25, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist equipment operators by clearing sites, marking lines, and ensuring safe excavation zones.

Dig trenches, foundations, or holes manually or using basic tools.

Load and unload construction materials, and transport them around the site.
-
Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work areas.
-
Help with site layout and measurement using levels, lasers, or tape measures.
-
Support installation of pipes, drainage systems, and other infrastructure.
-
Follow site safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
-
Assist in backfilling, compacting, and grading tasks.
-
Identify and report potential hazards to the supervisor.
Requirements:

Previous experience in excavation, landscaping, or general construction preferred but not required.

Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects, bend, and work in confined spaces.

Comfortable working in outdoor environments and variable weather conditions.

Basic understanding of construction site safety and procedures.

Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.
-
Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, CSTS)
Working Conditions:

Full-time hours with potential for overtime.
-
Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
-
May involve early starts and physically demanding tasks.
