About the role

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Coordinator, Staffing Education

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, HR Planning & Analytics, the Coordinator, Staffing Education is the primary point of contact for management staff related to scheduling, timekeeping and/or staffing education. The Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership to the Staffing Education team. The incumbent provides knowledge and expertise in the scheduling and timekeeping duties performed by the Staffing Services departments and participates in the development and implementation of Staffing Services processes, policies and procedures. The Coordinator ensures adequate departmental staffing levels are in place, and ensures direct reports are trained to perform the duties of their position. Develops procedures and processes to ensure timely and effectively delivery of services. The Coordinator, Staffing Education provides guidance, coaching and problem solving assistance to staff and leads the team by fostering a motivating and respectful workplace.

Starting salary will be approximately from $74,618 to $93,273 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree plus three (3) to five (5) years’ recent, related experience utilizing a computerized staff scheduling system in a large complex environment including supervisory in a unionized healthcare environment.

  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to demonstrate a strong customer service orientation and ability to understand and translate customer needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to function as a strong leader, motivator, coach/mentor, and a team member within a complex setting with the goal of attaining exceptional service, goals and objectives.

  • Knowledge of payroll, scheduling and general HR processes.

  • Ability to use effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain respectful relationships with staff and internal customers.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead and positively influence others.

  • Ability to balance and adapt to changing priorities and workload pressures.

  • Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques.
