Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) is an independent JK to Grade 12 International Baccalaureate and Round Square day and boarding school located on two campuses in Victoria, BC, Canada. Educational Assistant
Middle School

Position Overview
Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Assistant to support the learning of a Middle School student. This role plays a key part in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers and learning support staff to provide individualized support that promotes engagement, organization, and academic growth. An ideal candidate will have familiarity with the middle school curriculum—particularly in Math and Science—and experience supporting diverse learners. The Educational Assistant will help the student build effective learning strategies, strengthen focus, and develop confidence and independence through consistent, patient, and encouraging support. By fostering understanding, structure, and connection, the Educational Assistant will contribute to a positive learning experience and help the student reach their full potential within the GNS community.
What You’ll Bring
The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-directed professional with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You will be highly organized, collaborative, and adept at supporting diverse learning needs in a senior school setting. A strong understanding of inclusive education practices, differentiation strategies, and behavioural techniques is desired to foster an environment where students can succeed. Teaching experience or an Educational Assistant Certificate would be considered a strong asset.
