Job Title: Rehabilitation Clerk *REPOST*
Status: Temporary Part Time (9 Months)

Wage Schedule: $28.980 - $30.290 per hour
CUPE: 2600001036 (Subsequent)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Patient Care Manager (PCM) the Rehabilitation Clerk will perform the following duties; screen referrals for completeness, dictionary tasks, changes and edits in the Community Wide Scheduling module, scheduling and pre-registering all scheduled patients in the admission module; in collaboration with the PCM and Clinical Supervisor (CS), determine the level of prioritization based on the prioritization tool; be aware of and meet booking timelines and targets; rescheduling patients as necessary; billing and performing a wide range of clerical duties necessary for the efficient functioning of the ARC.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Medical Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required;

Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
-
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (tested - basic level);
-
Proven keyboarding skills of 30 wpm (tested);
-
Relevant clerical experience in a outpatient hospital setting preferred;
-
Recent related experience in a rehab or physiotherapy clinic an asset;
-
Experience with EPIC and Community Wide Scheduling module mandatory requirement;
-
Proven knowledge of Meditech Admission module;
-
Knowledge of booking/scheduling Rehabilitation procedures;
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
-
Ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships;
-
Ability to work productively, independently and as a member of a team, in a busy environment with frequent distractions;
-
Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and manage multiple tasks;
-
Proven understanding of "customer service" concept and ability to manage telephone communications in an efficient and effective manner;
-
Strict adherence to confidentiality;
-

Must have a satisfactory performance record;

Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area.
