About the role

TheDistribution Business ConsultantAssociate Manager role within the Insurance Distribution team is responsible for translating business strategy into executable plans, designing efficient processes, and developing robust business cases that guide investment and operational decisions. This role will partner closely with senior leaders across Insurance Distribution, Operations, and Data & Analytics teams to shape the operating model, optimize distributor and advisor experiences, and support channel growth.

Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking, project leadership, and business architecture capabilities, combined with a strong understanding of experience design and the levers that drive distribution performance. Involves evaluating opportunities, design solutions, build business cases, and ensure projects are set up for successful execution.

What you will do:

Business Case Development & Strategic Analysis

  • Lead the development of business cases—including problem definition, opportunity sizing, cost analysis, risk assessment, and recommendations—to support strategic investments and operational improvements.
  • Analyze market trends, advisor needs, and distribution performance to identify gaps and opportunities within the Insurance Distribution channel.
  • Transform data-driven insights into strategic options and present clear recommendations to senior leadership.

Project Leadership & Execution Support

  • Provide project management leadership across the lifecycle of strategic initiatives, from early-stage discovery through planning, design, and execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Technology, Operations, Compliance, Marketing, Data & Analytics) to define project scope, requirements, and success measures.
  • Support change management activities to ensure new processes, tools, and programs are successfully adopted by the Independent Distribution field.

Process Architecture & Design

  • Map, assess, and redesign business processes that impact advisors, distributors, and internal teams to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and strengthen the end-to-end advisor experience.
  • Establish and document business requirements for new processes, reporting capabilities, and technology enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and optimization within the distribution operating model.

Insight Translation & Business Partnership

  • Act as a strategic translator between Insurance Distribution and enterprise partners, ensuring business needs and field perspectives are embedded into solution design.
  • Work closely with Data & Analytics teams to ensure that data foundations, dashboards, and reporting frameworks align with business objectives and provide actionable insights.
  • Conduct qualitative assessments of programs, initiatives, and advisor experiences to inform continuous improvement and strategic roadmap decisions.

Channel Strategy Enablement

  • Contribute to the evolution of the Insurance Distribution strategic roadmap, manage backlogs and work intakes, combining data, stakeholder feedback, business cases, and market insights.
  • Provide structured analysis and consultative input to the Director and AVP on distribution programs, events, marketing initiatives, compensation levers, and organizational design considerations.
  • Support the development of KPIs, OKRs, and performance tracking mechanisms for the channel.

What you will bring:

  • 5-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Architect, Consultant, Program Manager, or similar strategic/analytical role (distribution or financial services experience an asset).
  • Post-secondary education in business, commerce, analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong capability in building business cases, including process design and cost/benefit modeling.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to lead through influence, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional partners.
  • A background in change management, communications, learning & development, UX or marketing would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in process mapping and redesign using structured methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, journey mapping).
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and other reporting/analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex concepts and present effectively to senior audiences.
  • A strategic, systems-oriented mindset with the ability to connect data, operations, and business strategy into cohesive solutions.

The base salary for this position is between**$64,800.00 - $119,800.00**annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
