Position Description Scott Springfield by Modine is tier-1 supplier that offers scalable air handling solutions for commercial and industrial customers across North America. SSM’s leadership team have intentionally created a workplace culture that puts customers first, and values teamwork, innovation and accountability. SSM has garnered a hard-earned reputation for customer service, quality and reliability..SSM operates three manufacturing facilities in Calgary and is looking to add a skilled .NET Web Developer to the team for a maternity leave 18 month contract term position to help deliver a key software product.
This role will be based at our 2234 Portland St SE location in Calgary Alberta. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design, code, test, deploy and maintain .Net web applications and related technologies.
- Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to define and design software requirements and ship new features.
- Create clean, scalable, and efficient code ensuring fast return of output.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems in a timely manner.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Provide training and support to users on newly developed software applications.
- Provide remote support to employees working offsite as needed.
- Remain current with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve development practices.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- A minimum of 3 years years experience as a .Net Web Developer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of ASP.Net, .NET Core, C#, JavaScript and Visual Studio
- Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills
- Superior time-management skills
Assets
- Familiarity with database management systems like SQL Server or MySQL
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience with 3Djs, EPPlus, and ODA for CAD file generation and output
- Solid understanding of front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular or React
