As a Project Manager you will lead and oversee the development of projects and initiatives - defining scope, budgets, timelines and deliverables. Your Responsibilities:
- Define project scope, objectives, appropriate strategies and deliverables ensuring they align with overall business goals
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders, specifically senior management, project sponsors, and technical subject matter expertise
- Develop and submit funding requests for each project phase; complete baseline documentation including the Project Execution Plan, estimate, schedule, and risk management plan
- Coordinate the completion of Engineering deliverables for each project phase
- Liaise with Supply Management through the development and execution of the project to ensure procurement and contract deliverables are complete in accordance with the project strategy and schedule
- Interface with Construction groups through the development and execution as well as completion and handover of the project
- Manage and control the project schedule, cost, and risks; liaise and coordinate with Project Controls to provide monthly updates on cost and schedule, both actuals and forecast; provide other project updates and reporting as required
- Liaise with Capital Portfolio Management to ensure schedule requirements and funding needs of various projects are incorporated into the short- and long-term capital budgeting processes
- Effectively communicate and manage project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts with stakeholder groups to ensure alignment of key stakeholders with the project strategy
- Develop and deliver project communication as required to meet project needs
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential problem areas, and devise contingency and mitigation plans
Your Skills:
- Demonstrated competence in heavy industrial construction activities
- Strong appreciation for the importance of safety within all elements of a project’s design and execution phases
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and networking skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working under limited supervision
- Detail-oriented
- Experience successfully leading cross-functional teams would be considered an asset
Your Experience:
- Post secondary degree in Engineering, or Technical Diploma, in addition to a minimum of 5-10 years of experience
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in Heavy Industrial Construction, Maintenance or Refinery Turnaround Experience including estimating, planning, scheduling, and Contractor management
