Shadbolt Centre for the Arts has a unique opportunity to join the Ceramic Arts team! We are hiring a Fine Arts Leader to assist the Ceramic Arts Programmer with planning, implementing and evaluating programs, events and exhibitions. You will have the opportunity to act as a resource person for Ceramic Arts instructors and specialists. You will prepare promotional material, generate ideas to boost the profile of Ceramic Arts, prepare and maintaining records and reports, track information and work within the registration database. You will be required to have strong working relationships with technicians, contract instructors and facility staff. You will support the supervision of Fine Arts Instructors, assistants and volunteers, evaluating and providing guidance as needed. You will perform related work as required.

To qualify, you need to have completed a two-year Community College course in a Fine Arts specialty including courses in teaching and related instructional experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in Ceramic Arts. You are required to have sound knowledge of the principles, practices and materials associated with Ceramic Arts programming, i.e. organizing and maintaining supplies, studio spaces, and specialized materials and equipment. You have a strong understanding of community needs and interests, as well as an ability to assist in the development and evaluation of programs that serve the community. You should have classroom management experience with a diversity of ages and skill ranges. A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required. Hours of Work: This is an auxiliary position, up to 12 hours a week for 42 weeks a year. Hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements and scheduled on an as needed and seasonal basis.
