About the role
Overview As a Refrigeration Installation Technician (Contractor) , you will complete residential installations of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related systems. You will represent Polaron Home Comfort on-site, delivering high-quality workmanship while meeting safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction standards.
Responsibilities
- Complete residential HVAC and refrigeration installations in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Nova Scotia Building Code, and applicable provincial regulations
- Perform work safely, efficiently, and neatly, ensuring no damage to customer property
- Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding scheduling, job progress, and quality checks
- Submit all required documentation, including photos, serial numbers, and completion reports through the assigned system
- Deliver professional, courteous customer service at every job site

- Professionalism: Uniformed appearance, respectful communication, and positive homeowner interactions
- Quality Workmanship: Installations must meet company standards and pass QA inspections
- Reliability: Arrive within scheduled service windows and complete work on time
- Compliance: Maintain all required certifications, insurance, and safety standards
- Documentation: Accurate and timely submission of job photos, permits, and reports prior to payment
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of residential HVAC/refrigeration installation experience
- Valid Nova Scotia Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic (Red Seal) certification or equivalent provincial certification eligible for transfer
- Valid ODP certification
- Own tools, reliable vehicle, and valid driver’s license
- Liability insurance ($2M minimum) and proof of workers’ compensation coverage (or equivalent contractor clearance)
