About the role

Why is this role important?

In this role you will be supporting and enhancing existing ETL and front-end applications. As a co-op student you will be involved in a variety of activities that support priority projects for our department. These projects are key in helping us drive CIHI’s overall mandate to deliver on better data, better decisions, for healthier Canadians. This unique opportunity will expose you to areas of Data pipelines built in PySpark, Informatica DEI. You’ll get to further your experience in using Business Intelligence tools like Qlik, MicroStrategy, Drupal, and JavaScript web applications.

What you'll do

• Support existing ETL and front-end applications with the use of Python, PySpark, and JavaScript.

• Build tools that will help automate/enhance existing applications.

• Help in coordinating, collaborating, communicating, monitoring, reporting and documenting key activities within the department.

• Actively participate in problem-solving and developing solutions.

• Assist with implementing and executing solutions to meet specific business needs.

What you'll bring to the table

• Working towards an undergraduate or a graduate program requiring Co-op as part of educational requirement.

• Proficient with office suite.

• Experience and knowledge of Python, PySpark, JavaScript.

• Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders both verbally and written.

• Passionate about solving problems and demonstrated ability to be a team player.
