POSITION PURPOSE
Become a valuable member of the Zumiez organization with ability to foster teamwork through positive interactions. Support distribution center (DC) operations in one or more work areas. To achieve and maintain high level of performance and proficiency in DC related tasks such as receiving, value added services, put-to-store, picking, packing, shipping, receiving and inventory control. To learn, drive and enhance the Zumiez Cultural values.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for creating a safe work environment for oneself and everyone at the DC
- To follow all Zumiez Policies, Provincial and Government Laws and Regulations, all SOP's, SWP's and otherwise assigned
- Learns and drives all Zumiez Cultural Values
- Becomes the master of their home department. Learns all General Labor functions in DC. Performs tasks specific to their department and or as assigned
- Perform carton and pallet tasks including but not limited to lifting, stacking, sorting, label application, opening, erecting, sealing, counting, carrying and moving
- Responsible to accomplish daily goals set out by leadership, daily, monthly and annually
- Ability to recognize issues and optimize workflow and update leadership
- Participates in team meetings and ensures clear effective communication
- Accountable for accuracy of information input into inventory control system
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Characteristics/Attributes
- An appreciation of Zumiez culture and the ability to integrate well
- Team player, positive attitude, energetic, committed, competitive
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a fact-paced, dynamic environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
- Approachable personality with great customer service skills
- Ability to self evaluate strengths and opportunities and work with supervisor's support to achieve tasks and goals
- Self motivated
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Education/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Successfully passed any EDC's or department specific tests to verify department knowledge T1 to T3 TM
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift from floor to above the head, 50 lbs. frequently, and 75 lbs. occasionally, throughout work shift
- Ability to use hands to handle or feel product
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours
- Must be willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, twist, and reach
- Ability to work in warehouse environment with constant exposure to loud machinery
- Ability to work in varied temperatures, both indoors and outdoors
- Hours are given based on volumes, cross training, performance, attendance, quality and behavior.
