If you are a new or recent graduate, this is your opportunity to put your career on the fast track. Our New Graduate Underwriter Development Program is a 24-month accelerated learning experience giving you tremendous exposure to the world of insurance while building your network to grow and thrive in the insurance industry.
In this rotational program peers, mentors, and leaders will teach you the ins and outs of our Personal Lines and Special Lines insurance business through a variety of learning styles. Personal Lines is a core part of Co-operators offering with a variety of automobile and home insurance solutions. Special Lines is a major growth area of our organization, providing insurance solutions for Canadian businesses and farm clients.
As a member of the team, you will become an expert in our suite of products. You would learn and partake in risk assessment and work directly with our direct agent network – the people who sell our products – to help them to evaluate the potential risks and make decisions for long-term, profitable growth.

- Learn the technical aspects of insurance: assessing and evaluating risk to make empowered decisions; and how to quote, negotiate and authorize new business.
- Build relationships with our agents and distribution partners and learn how they create value for their clients.
- Be involved in stimulating, challenging initiatives and development opportunities to help you grow your skills and expertise.

Have recently graduated from post-secondary within the last 5 years

Have less than 2 years of experience in the insurance industry

This role supports certain tasks in a contact center environment where a high level of audio and visual concentration is required for extended periods of time.

Rotational shifts outside of standard business hours, Monday through Friday will be required.

You will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
