Responsible for generating and assessing geological, mineralisation, and grade models for growth scenarios and asset-transformational projects. Brings global, cross-disciplinary geological breadth, strong conceptual thinking across the full range of ore system possibilities and produces fit-for-purpose resource models that inform investment and portfolio decisions.

Task and responsibilities

  • Review data room information including resource and reserve statements, block models, geological databases, QAQC, mine designs, schedules, costs, and technical reports;
  • Develop conceptual geological models from aspirational to advanced levels, incorporating full ore system potential across multiple geological scenarios;
  • Generate fit-for-purpose resource estimations and simulations through advanced geostatistical techniques, calibrated to available data and decision requirements;
  • Produce high-quality resource models considering financial and strategic impacts on mining and exploration decisions;
  • Conduct comprehensive technical reviews and produce decision-ready reports;
  • Undertake technical work supporting growth, asset strategic planning, and portfolio scenario development;
  • Conduct thorough due diligence across technical, geological, and financial aspects;
  • Conduct site visits domestically and internationally as required;
  • Stay current with advancements in geological modelling and resource estimation;
  • Work independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary project teams.

Required qualifications

  • Relevant university degree in Geology (postgraduate degree preferred);
  • About 20 years of relevant professional experience across technical, project-based, and operational roles;
  • Demonstrated experience across multiple deposit types and regions;
  • Advanced 3D geological interpretation skills with the ability to apply this to Resource estimation
  • Experience with linear estimation, recoverable estimation and simulation techniques
  • Ability to think conceptually at district to deposit scale beyond the immediate data set;
  • Independent capability to produce fit-for-purpose resource models across the full spectrum of project maturity;
  • Familiarity with underground and open-pit mining environments;
  • Applies Conceptual, systems-scale geological thinking across the full range of scenarios and development stages;
  • Broad geological and mining literacy across exploration, resource geology, and mining contexts;
  • Global and multi-jurisdictional perspective informed by experience across multiple countries and regions;
  • Ability to interact at a technical level across different geographic regions and at various levels within the organization;
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of business drivers
  • The role requires a strategic mindset, with the ability to think analytically, anticipate risks, opportunities and develop solutions to complex problems with minimal data and tight timeframes
  • Proficiency in French and/or Spanish considered an asset.
